Fishing Tackle Review: The Shimano Tribal Ultegra 5500 XTA Reel

Similar to many other fishermen, it pleasures me to hunt for gear and read information on it just as much as it does to go fishing. In the off-season, learning about what’s new in fishing tackle comes close to being too fanatical, although not quite that bad! After I come up with the right rod or reel, it is pleasing to talk about it with other anglers. In keeping with this, the following is a quick evaluation of a reel that I am rather fond of: The Shimano Tribal Ultegra 5500 XTA.

On The Shimano Tribal Ultegra 5500 XTA

The Ultegra 5500 XTA was first shown at a Shimano trade show, and is now a favourite. Even though it is little, this reel is excellent for big carp, and various other varieties as well. It’s also light, weighing just 570 grams (before you wind on the line) and features a front spool baitrunner system. A baitrunner reel, just so you’ll know, is the same as a fixed spool reel, but it’s equipped for baiting fish with the bail closed up, as the reel is still entirely in free spool mode. I’ve found this reel to be perfect for all distances, from short to quite long.

Key Features of the Ultegra 5500 XTA

The number on obvious thing about the Ultegra 5500 XTA is its one-of-a-kind look. It has a RealTree™ veneer. RealTree, I’ve discovered, is the primary company for multi-use and individual camouflage patterns, such as the trendy Hardwoods™. This is a manageable, scaled-down version of a bit pit reel, which makes it a great choice for many anglers. Although not a large size, it can cast vast distances and supplies exceptional line lay and ample control. The reel has an extra spool and carrying case. Expect to pay around £189.99 for it.

More Facts Regarding the Shimano Ultegra Reel

The Shimano Ultegra reel entails a distinguishing form which is sleek, has an up-to-date-design and a firm feel. The ergonomics are remarkable, and so the fishing reel is really very comfy to hold, even for long intervals. Its casting distance is great. You can be expecting a scope of 100 to 120 yard, implementing 4oz leads. The reel’s handle is large and comfortable, due to its biomechanical design. It will crank roughly a yard of line for every turn. The baitrunner system is extremely easy to manage, it requires simply an anticlockwise quarter turn of the outer drag knob to set it. I’ve found the clutch to be super-smooth, a feature that’s quite important to me. Since a set of washers is included too, it is so easy to customise the line lay’s taper. Despite the fact that I’m normally not bothered with how a fishing reel looks, I must declare that the 5500 XTA is very eye-catching.

The Shimano Tribal Ultegra 5500 XTA fishing reel is going to make a fantastic addition to any fisherman’s array of fishing tackle.
